The Preserve in the North Woods of Minnesota |
YOU DESERVE THE PRESERVE
It was time to leave South Dakota and head Northeast to my home state of Minnesota where I was meeting some childhood friends for a weekend of golf at Breezy Point.
It was another long 7 hour drive, taking back roads through Watertown, South Dakota and then East by way of Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
Upon arriving at this track tucked away behind a half mile wooded driveway to their newly remolded clubhouse, the tranquil setting surrounded by Minnesota woodlands gave you goose bumps. The clubhouse has one of the largest deck views in the North, overlooking several holes including their signature hole #18.
This championship track has it's share of challenges, a 6600 yard Par 72 with elevated tees and tour speed greens will have you thinking twice about many shots throughout your round. With a price tag of $75 a round, it's a little expensive for most but worth every penny. The Par 5 18th hole will leave a lasting impression on your day as you make your way to the final pin looking up at their majestic clubhouse.
After a great round with a couple of locals if was back to "ACE" to change and head into the town of Nisswa for a great slice of pizza at Rafferty's and then a good nights sleep and a drive to Emily Green's tomorrow.
