(Schneiter's Bluff - Ogden, Utah)A DIAMOND IN THE "BLUFF"Our journey began on a Monday morning from Las Vegas. The first day of second grade for my daughter Emily, just a day after her 8th birthday. "Ace" and I had a 7 hour drive ahead, a scenic drive through canyons in Arizona and Southern Utah which is the home to many National Parks including Zion. I have never been there but I've heard it's nice? Our first stop on our journey to the PGA in January was Schneiter's Bluff in West Point, Utah. It's a family owned course that' has been there for nearly 30 years. We met the local professional and co-owner Jon Schneiter who was a great interview on our You Tube channel "Longdrivin" Schneiter's BLuff is sits just north of Salt Lake City near the Great Salt Lake with a backdrop of the Wasatch Mountain range. The course plays 6800 yards from the tips, Par 72 and is a links style course providing plenty of challenges for golfers of all levels. It's also a very popular track for beginners and offers plenty of opportunities for local kids to play and learn the game with their many youth programs. Also, if you looking for a course in a beautiful setting where deer can be seen making taking a stroll throughout the property at a great value, this is the place. Talk about value, a quick nine will cost you $15, while a full 18 is only $30 (cart fee additional), and if your looking for a two day stay, then the family owns another course just a few miles away called Schneiter's Riverside This course has been around for 60 years and offers a very different challenge. Sitting a 6100 yards from the tips and a Par 71, it's not long, but its tough with its tall trees and tight fairways. Golf in northern Utah is one of the West's best kept secrets when it comes to beauty and value. Schneiter's Bluff and Riverside courses are a must play, especially if you are a member of Harvest Hosts, which allows an overnight stay for free in your RV. "ACE" and I enjoyed our stay there, and the grill was a great place to grab lunch! Check out the video of Schneiter's Bluff on our You Tube Page and Subscribe!
